... Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News: "Owner Mark Cuban said the Mavericks dealt with Josh Howard's flag football episode after it happened in July. 'That said, we will be going through some advanced communication-skill sessions together this training camp,' Cuban said Tuesday. 'I have explained to him that cellphone cameras are not your friend and that what you think you said on camera is never what people will hear when it shows up on YouTube or TV. There is only one universal response that works: 'Both teams played hard.'" ...

A Daily Babble Production The wake of the latest Josh Howard-induced media firestorm seems to have once again brought forth the conundrum athletes face with regards to their public remarks. If they keep their commentaries brief, vague and focused only on the games they play, fans and media alike criticize them for being generic and full of coach-speak. If they speak candidly and go beyond the framework of PR-savvy sports cliche, they catch heat when people disagree with their views, often with much fervor. Indeed, there are some cases where we make it rather tough on ...

Solve the Puzzle
"The Star-Spangled Banner is going on. I don't celebrate this sh*t. I'm black."

The Bad: Josh Howard has been an embarrassment and a distraction since last April: The admission of pot use, the infamous playoff disappearance that was highlighted by a wild birthday bash he threw for himself after the team fell behind 3-1 in their first round series against the Hornets, an arrest for drag racing, and of course the national anthem brouhaha. I mean, seriously, that's downright Artestean. ...

That's hilarious. In other words, when you see a camera or mic, shut up and look serious.
