I still remember it like it was yesterday... It was the summer of 1992.  After the Quebec Nordiques drafted "The Next One" Eric Lindros against his wishes (he had previously informed the team that he would never play for them), the NHL practically forced the now-defunct squad to deal him so that the eventual successor to the Lemieux/Gretzky throne wouldn't have to sit out ... Hall Worthy?

Tomorrow, former Philadelphia Flyer Eric Lindros is expected to announce his retirement from the NHL, ending his 13-year career. Many will unfortunately remember Lindros for his concussion problems or forcing his way out of Quebec and not remember the dominant power forward he was.

Official Thursday, Lindros says goodbye

He took me under his wing a bit when we went on the road. One thing he helped me with is to protect myself on the ice and not let other players abuse me. I just have great things to say about him. I know it was maybe a different situation with the Flyers but as a person he was very helpful for me.
