Mitch Williams Has a Potty Mouth, Line of Boutique Salsa
Published 3/11/2008 by Rob Iracane at Walkoff Walk
... Former Phillies reliever Mitch Williams is very protective of his 10 year old daughter, enough to curse out a female ref at a CYO game and possibly get banned from future contests. I guess those fifth grade girls in Catholic Youth Organization basketball games in Medford, NJ can get pretty physical, because Mitch was getting pissed about all the non-calls on his daughter: ...

Daily News: Mitch Williams still a little ‘Wild’ Weeee...Wilder than Mitch Lawrence’s jazz on Tim Donaghy! Mitch Williams lived up to his “Wild Thing” nickname Saturday at a Catholic Youth Organization basketball game in Medford, N.J. The former Phillies hurler cursed at a female referee who was calling a basketball game in which his daughter, a fifth-grader, was playing for St. Mary of the Lakes against Our Lady of Good Counsel. Williams, who now sells his own brand of salsa and who later this month starts hosting a Phillies pre-game show on The Big Talker 1210 AM, told ...

Filed under: Philadelphia, Phillies, Cubs, MLB GossipYears after his baseball career ended, former Major League closer Mitch "Wild Thing" Williams is still showing that intensity that helped him rack up 192 saves in his 11-year career. Unfortunately, he's choosing to do so at his daughter's 5th grade basketball game. From Dan Gross at the Philadelphia Daily News, we get this. The former Phillies hurler cursed at a female referee who was calling a basketball game in which his daughter, a fifth-grader, was ...

... game in which his daughter, a fifth-grader, was playing.” ( Salsa Southpaw Hurls Spicy Language ) Williams thought his daughter was getting repeatedly fouled with no calls coming from the official. So, as any right-thinking parent who gave up a World Series-winning home run would do, he dropped an f-bomb on the youth league official. Williams, who is also (now tentatively?) set to host the Phillies pregame show on a local radio station when the season opens next month, said, “ I’m emotional when it comes to my kids. What I saw happening was completely unfair .” Ron Martin , ...
Mitch Williams Supports Youth Athletics, Is Not At All Insane [Wild Thing]
Published 3/11/2008 by Rick at Deadspin
... Former Phillies reliever Mitch Williams has never been one to see an injustice go unchallenged, even if that does mean being unceremoniously tossed from his 10-year-old daughter's youth league basketball game for screaming the F-word several times at a female referee. ...

... coming on the former Arizona State linebacker who walked away from an NFL career after 9/11 and was killed in Afghanistan, in a controversial friendly-fire incident. Mitch Williams was known as "Wild Thing" when he gave up that walkoff homer to Joe Carter to end the 1993 World Series. The Philadelphia Daily News reports Williams was still in character when he got tossed out of his daughter's fifth-grade basketball game. The News' Dan Gross reports the Williams sells his own brand of salsa these days. Might want to lighten up on the Tabasco, Thing.

... 4. Mitch Williams - I guess the Wild Thing name has always been pretty accurate for Mitch Williams. He's a hot head who bombed out of the league because he couldn't keep it together. A 5th grade catholic league basketball game is pretty meaningless Mitch. Nothing really to get worked up about and certainly nothing where you need to start cursing at the officials for. You must be that embarrassing father that everyone ends up laughing at. ...
