Dan Patrick’s Back, and No, Colin Cowherd Isn’t Getting the Job
Published 8/15/2007 by TheBigLead at The Big Lead
... Patrick apparently dropped the name of his new website on the air, DanPatrick.com, which opens with a mildly amusing video of wealthy Dan (nice mansion) sifting through a trunk full of ties he wore during memorable moments at the WWL. Towards the end, “Memories” (we’re not up to speed on 60s/70s music, so maybe it has another title) is playing in the background. If you get misty, we’ll pass you a tampon. ...

Charles Barkley was on Dan Patrick's show today and had some interesting comments on the gambling issue and his critics.... I'm not sure Barkley knows this, but most people really like him. It also seems like a very paranoid statement to say people are "out to get you", but that doesn't mean they aren't. LAST WORD ON BRADSHAW AND STEROIDS

We’ve written a couple of items about Terry Bradshaw’s stunning (to us, at least) steroids use admission, and his subsequent effort to explain that, when he talked about steroids, he wasn’t talking about steroids . We also talked about the item at length with Dan Patrick (his show can be heard on demand at any time , for free), and with Chris McClain of WFNZ in Charlotte. We’ve got two more things to say about the situation. First, and as we’ve previously said, the reference to steroids was meaningless if Bradshaw was merely referring to the same kind of anti-inflammatory ...

CAMPBELL IS STILL A LION, SORT OF
Published 8/14/2008 by Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com
We were reminded to comment about the new Madden game earlier today because Dan Patrick and producer Paul Pabst were talking about the game during Patrick’s  daily radio show . And, since few of you likely play the game as the Detroit Lions (unless you really enjoy a challenge) Pabst mentioned something that caught our interest. The game includes Caleb Campbell on the Lions’ roster. Campbell is the West Point grad who was famously paraded for the television cameras on the second day of the draft, pursuant to a policy that supposedly would allow Campbell to play football despite ...

EXPANDED SEASON COMING IN 2010, AT THE EARLIEST

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell visited on Thursday with Dan Patrick, and Goodell talked about the possible expansion of the regular season and, in turn, the potential shrinkage of the preseason.  (The audio will be available on demand at Dan’s web site .) Goodell said that a change would come in 2010 at the earliest, and that it would be tied to the ongoing labor agreement talks with the union and the broadcasting contracts with the networks.  But the contracts with FOX, CBS, and NBC run through the 2011 season, and the deal with ESPN expires after 2013.  Thus, any deal done ...

Tatum Bell's First Interview After "Luggagegate" Will Be On The Dan Patrick Show Tomorrow

You couldn't write something like that, and while you'd like to think it's cut and dry at this point, we're just getting started with this whole thing. Tatum Bell has now told the Detroit Free-Press that it was an honest mistake and that he ...

“TATUM BELL’S NOT NO THIEF”
Published 9/5/2008 by Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com
Former Lions running back Tatum Bell, in an effort to clear the air regarding his non-theft theft of Rudi Johnson’s luggage, continued his assault on the English language by asserting at one point to Dan Patrick, “Tatum Bell’s not no thief.” In a ten-minute interview on The Dan Patrick Show , Bell gave his side of the story.  As previously explained, he thought the bags belonged to a former teammate.  Bell said that he knew cameras were present. The bigger problem is that the bags, when they made their way back to Johnson, were missing things, like money and underwear.  So how ...

The Titans face the Texans at home on Sunday, and it was the Titans’ home crowd whose boos of Young sparked a chain of events that ended with a Monday night APB – and a police negotiator on standby.  Surely, Fisher doesn’t want to expose Young to anyone in the seats near the team bench who might be inclined to try to press the softened buttons of a player who might be perceived as a rich, whiny quitter. Former Rams tailback Marshall Faulk, who played with quarterback Trent Green during Green’s first stint in St. Louis, said on Wednesday’s edition of The Dan Patrick Show that Faulk fears for Green’s safety as the new starting quarterback of the team.“I would hate to see anything happen to this guy,” Faulk said, in reference to Green’s recent history of serious concussions.  Faulk also said that he would not put Green into an NFL game. JIMMY JOHNSON TO TALK ABOUT IRVIN’S SCISSORS ATTACK
Published 15 days ago by Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com
We’ve heard through the grapevine that former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson will appear on today’s Dan Patrick Show to talk about various topics, including the alleged scissors-to-the-neck incident from 1998 between Michael Irvin and Everett McIver.“There, dangling in his right hand, was a pair of silver scissors, bits of shredded brown skin coating the tips,” writes Jeff Pearlman in his new book, Boys Will Be Boys .  “There, clutching his own throat, was Everett McIver, a 6-foot, 5-inch, 318-pound hulk of a man, ...
