“It’s bittersweet,” Smith said, as quoted by Darin Gantt in the The Herald of Rock Hill, SC.
“We get the win, but I have a limited role. So, obviously, I see this game as showing I’m no longer an asset to this team.”
Smith had only one catch in Sunday’s 28-21 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Smith’s lone 4-yard grab came with only 6:52 remaining in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Jake Delhomme only attempted 17 passes completing 9 for 65 yards.
