The Oregon Live blog asks if Bayless is indeed pressing for more minutes of late.

Blazers Threaten to Sue Team That Signs Darius Miles
FanHouse —
... The Blazers have already gone a few steps too far on the Miles situation, badmouthing him around the league and leaking details of his 10-game suspension to keep prospective teams from even giving him a chance. Local fans, however, remain sympathetic to the Blazers cause in this matter. But this is a mile past the line, right? ...

Darius Miles Situation Just Went Critical
Bust a Bucket - A Portland Trail Blazers Blog —
... dropped a bomb regarding news of the Darius Miles situation. Apparently the Blazers released a letter to other NBA teams saying you better not sign Darius. My first thought was, good job Portland, way to be tough. Then I thought about the possible backlash and the hate we all might soon be hearing. I'm still at a loss and not able to write more, so I'll let Dave at Blazer's Edge give you the full scoop. Here's the letter too: ...

... is one that young Golden State Warriors rookie Anthony Randolph should learn from. At the turn of the century Miles was a young, flashy, exciting forward with loads of potential (much more than Randolph) and even more attitude (some good- that funky head tapping with Q and a lot of bad- poor practice habits, ego, etc). Is Randolph the next Lamar Odom or the next Darius Miles? Only time will tell.
My buddy Dave from the top-notch Blazer's Edge gives the current Darius situation some mileage. ...

Roundball Mining Company - Denver Nuggets Blog —
... Henry Abbott at TrueHoop has a great post on the Miles issue and he points out that the memo only threatens action against a team who signs Miles “for the purposes of hurting Portland.” That is an important distinction. If the Nuggets or Jazz sign Miles to a ten day contract, play him in two games for two minutes each game and then waives him, I can see how Portland would have a been with them.
Blazer’s Edge also addresses the memo and looks deeper at the legal issues.

... resent Paul Allen's heavy wallet. Among the people I've talked to within the league, nobody can ever remember a note like this going around to other teams, threatening legal action over something like signing a player to a 10-day contract. But on the other hand, the Miles situation has been bizarre for months now. BE Dave has been all over this for a while now. He's got a keen eye on how all this really can affect the Blazers' cap and what it, potentially, means going forward. Here's more from Dave today: Does this mean that Miles was a bigger issue than we thought? I don't ...

And the NBA being a joint venture, where the individual owners agree not to try to harm another team in order to gain a competitive edge, the Blazers have a point, one that they can point to the Yahoo story for, and charge that if that intent was hypothesized publically, it was likely also being discussed privately.
Blazer's Edge is of course all over the story, with a piece on the hard news angle, an exclusive statement from Miles' agent, and now ...
