After days of rumors, it appears as though the Pirates have finally traded Jason Bay to the Red Sox as part of three-way deal that sends Manny Ramirez to the Dodgers and four prospects to Pittsburgh. The Pirates will receive third baseman Andy LaRoche and pitcher Bryan Morris from the Dodgers, and outfielder Brandon Moss and pitcher Craig Hansen from the Red Sox.
I realize that this is probably the least interesting aspect to most baseball fans, but I’m a Pirates fan and a Pirates writer, so I’m going to tackle this deal from that perspective.
