David Ortiz hopes time, cast heals wound Links4
I f time, Mother Nature and a massive immobilizing cast on his left arm are enough to do the trick, David Ortiz [ stats ] could be pain-free and ready to think about playing baseball again by early July. If not, the partially torn ECU tendon sheath in Ortiz left wrist could be cause for season-ending surgery. Until those unknowns become clearer, the Red Sox [ team stats ] will try to get by ... Red Sox Not Interested In Bonds
Published 6/4/2008 by Tim Dierkes at MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com
According to Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald, a club source said Barry Bonds is "not a fit" for the Red Sox.  David Ortiz may be ready to play in July, anyway. Bonds will continue to wait for a phone call.  I believe he would've put aside negative feelings for Boston, had the Red Sox come calling.  Just for the fun of it, the following contending teams ...

No Bonds for Red Sox
Published 6/4/2008 by Patrick Dorsey at The Transaction Guy

Not that big of a shock. Bonds, as we all well know, is a clubhouse cancer. The Red Sox have some of the best chemistry in the league, being ...

Onslaught of Injuries
Published 6/5/2008 by Fantasy Sports PT at The Disabled List Informer
Carlos Pena: The Rays’ first baseman fractured the left index finger when he was hit by a pitch on Tuesday night. This is problematic for him because he throws left handed. He will have to wait for the fracture to heal (probably 4 weeks or so) in order to throw again, and dry swings should occur right around then as well. He has been placed on the 15-day DL, but expect him to be out for about 30 days-plus. Carl Crawford returned to the Rays lineup tonight, going 1-for-4 with a single. He had been complaining of right knee pain and soreness, but an MRI came back clean, and he received clearance from Dr. James Andrews that he was fit to play. ...
