Red Sox general manager Terry Francona said slugger David Ortiz, who was placed on the 15-day DL June 3 with a torn tendon in his left wrist, will head to Triple A Pawtucket after the All-Star break for July 17, 18, and 19 games against Toledo. Ortiz will get a day off, Francona said, and head to Double A Portland for a three-game homestand against Connecticut on Jule 21, 22, and 23.  ... [link]
