Good afternoon folks. I'm coming to you from a pretty miserable ride from D.C. to New Jersey. I must say that I can't recall ever making this ride back after seeing a D.C. team as thoroughly beaten as D.C. was beaten last night. I know D.C. fans are holding out hope that it's just a bad stretch but I see some real problems that aren't going to away any time soon. I'll delve into that subject ...MLS Primetime Wrap: DC Untied

Chicago Fire 2 - DC United 0 We're sure the whole untied/United headline business has been used before, but we're equally fed up with the various ways the Fire can burn, torch, or scorch opposing teams in the headlines. Regardless, the Chicago Fire ran circles around the United defense, putting on an offensive display that gave them several lethal chances. Justin Mapp and Cuahtemoc Blanco ...My Take: DC United 0 - 2 Chicago Fire

Last night's match showed alot more than just how good Chicago is this season. It showed how United is really not that great even after the massive amounts of change was went through over the offseason. It also showed how poor a coach Tom Soehn is. First things first, Chicago was the better club and deserved to win last night. They took their shots and took advantage of what United gave them. ...Primetime Recap: Fire Downs United

I guess maybe all along we were completely wrong about DC United. So far this season they haven’t looked at all like the Supporter’s Shield winners of the last two years and I think now more than ever we can stop throwing out the age old excuse of the CONCACAF Champions Cup hangover as to why this club is doing so poorly. Let’s face it, Chicago looked like the better side ...Fire . . .

The Chicago Fire dominated D.C. United at RFK tonight with a 2 - 0 win. Cuauhtemoc Blanco scored a wonderful goal in the second half that that made heads on United drop and sealed the Fire’s win. United is not a good team right now. I’m willing to watch them lose if they pay well, but this team is playing poor soccer and I’m placing the blame squarely on Tom Soehn. United ...First Impressions - D.C. United 0 : 2 Chicago Fire

...and it wasn't even the worst game we've played this season. Here's the thing. I'm used to United defenses giving up goals because of bad plays in the back. Facundo Erpen, Bobby Boswell, Brandon Prideaux, Bryan Namoff, Brian Carroll... over the past few seasons, they've all commited some horrible blunders that led to opposing team goals. What I'm not used to is seeing a United defense get ...Chicago Fire at D.C. United: Running Commentary

Good evening foks. I'm coming to you from Washington D.C. I am in town for the Eastern Conference showdown between the Chicago Fire and D.C. United. It should be an exciting match and a chance to see if Chicago can keep its roll going and if D.C. United can turn around an ugly start to the season. The weather is ugly and drizzly, but that's okay, D.C. is still one of the best road ...Chicago vs. DC United! Live! Tonight! In HD!

The obligatory Thursday night hype post. And with this being the first meeting of Chicago and DC since 2007's epic playoff battle this one is worth every bit of hyperbole. FYI ESPN will have a full 30 minutes of pre-game beginning at 7.30pm EST, with kickoff slated for 8pm. It's like almost like ESPN actually doesn't hate soccer!MLS Primetime Preview: Fire at United

Another primetime clash in the eastern conference tonight. The big boys of Chicago against the boys who should be big of DC. Both clubs are in opposite ends of the spectrum here going into week number seven of the 2008 campaign. The one thing that may be going for the homeside is the fact that they have a new sponsor in VW. But seriously, we have the league’s best defense (Chicago) ...ESPN Classics: DCU vs. Chicago 2005

In advance of Thursday's game , ESPN has put up another edition of their MLS Classics - this time, it's United vs. the Fire. This particular 2005 game saw a bunch of goals and a late winner from former D.C. defender Bobby Boswell ( .com ). The D.C.-Chicago rivalry has turned into a very strong one in recent years, due mostly to the Fire's ability to oust United from the playoffs (something ...
