Apparently The Kidd Rumors Are Back

... which could enable him to re-sign with Dallas if he waits 30 days, and ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard reports that the Nets and the Mavs are likewise poised to complete a separate trade that will send swingman Antoine Wright to Dallas for a future second-round pick That seems like a lot for Kidd and could really cut into Dallas' depth on the bench. Especially with two main players in the West adding big guys, the back up behind Erick Dampier would now become Juwan Howard. Eddie Sefko is reporting that the deal is not that close to being done, but there are talks going ...

Devean George, You are Delusional
Published 2/14/2008 by Tom Ziller at FanHouse
... Devean George will not be getting offers in excess of $6 million a year. The middle of the free agent pack is light this year; I'd expect very few teams to dole out midlevels fast and easy (especially considering the big FA classes of 2009 and 2010). As the Dallas Morning News' Eddie Sefko mentions, this whole debacle could hurt George's earning power in the long run. With his Bird rights intact, that helps only in a) getting an unrestricted offer from Dallas, or b) working out a sign-and-trade with Dallas. Something tells me ...

Happy Valentine’s Day Arizona
Boy, what a great day to be an Arizona sports fan! All four major teams in the state won! The Phoenix Suns took care of the Dallas Mavericks at US Airways Arena, as Steve Nash scored 24 points, dished out 13 assists and pulled down six boards in Phoenix’s 109-97 win over a short-handed Dallas Mavericks in the league’s final game before the All-Star break. Sun Devils freshman sensation ...
Suns’ Hot Shooting Melts Mavericks 109-97
You knew it had to be the Phoenix Suns’ night; after all, on Tuesday night against the Dallas Mavericks, they shot 56.9% from the floor and held the Mavericks to 40% shooting. Also factor in the fact that Dallas was undermanned, and the Suns emerged victorious, 109-97, at US Airways Center. Despite Phoenix’s hot shooting, the first half was very ...
Game #52 Recap - Mavericks 96, Blazers 76
Well folks, all I can say after the last four games is that I hope the rest of the Blazers get the rest they need to come out of the all-star break hungry and focused. Here is what I say as the money quote after last night’s drubbing in Dallas, courtesy of Joe Freeman of The Oregonian: “It’s a major setback,” Roy said. “But, hopefully, we can come back and play ...
Mavs could seek Seattle's Thomas as backup center
If the Jason Kidd trade goes through the Dallas Mavericks might seek a dependable backup center to replace DeSagana Diop . Seattle SuperSonics big man Kurt Thomas is a Dallas native, a former Maverick and is in the final year of his contract at $8 million. The Sonics could also send Dallas their remaining $3.5 million in trade exceptions. The only issue is whether the Mavericks ...

Devean George Will Not Go To New Jersey If He Can Help It
Yesterday, we all thought that Jason Kidd was heading to the Dallas Mavericks for Devin Harris and Jerry Stackhouse. Also, apparently Devean George was in the deal. Devean George does not want to go to New Jersey. Thusly, the trade is now on hold. Now I don’t know what to believe. George was supposed to be among the players headed to the New Jersey Nets in the megatrade, but he ...

Day 107 of 170: Devean George was the worst fantasy player who played last night
Usually we start with the Line of the Night, but on this particular night, I feel like doing things a little different. No reason, really. Just feel like changing things up. The Biggest Loser: Devean George (1.03) played 33 minutes for the Dallas Mavericks, and scored 0 points on 0-11 from the field and 0-2 from the line. He did get 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal, which was all of good ...
Devean George shoots 0-of-11, wins honor
Dallas Mavericks swingman (or whatever position he sorta plays) Devean George, after messing up the Jason Kidd-to-Mavericks trade by using a contract clause to avoid being traded, started at small forward as the team was at home facing the Portland Trail Blazers. In 33 minutes, George shot 0-of-11, including 0-of-4 from three-point range. And he [...]
Devean George Laughs at Your Blockbuster Trades
I don’t think this is what Mark Cuban had in mind when he resigned Devean George in the offseason. Yesterday, news of a blockbuster trade involving Jason Kidd going back to Dallas spread like wildfire. And then, in an instant, it was gone. The reason? Devean Freakin’ George, who vetoed the trade that would have sent him and a handful of Mavericks to New Jersey. Imagine that. ...

Dallas Mavericks 96 Portland Trailblazers 76 It may be Just Another BS Hallmark Holiday That Costs Men Valuable Beer Money Valentine's Day, but I don't think there's much love in Dallas for Devean George right now. Blazers vs Dallas and a Merciful Reprieve
Well, that was fun . As has been well documented, Portland tends to be pretty bad without NMVP James Jones , and remember he's out 3-5 weeks . Plenty of time for the team to figure out how to win without him, or for the wheels to fall off completely. The good thing about the beating from Dallas is that it means we have mercifully reached the end of all this losing. Well, not the end. More like ...
