... But does that convenient excuse to skip the Derby claim hold any water? George from Sports Tsar did the research and found little correlation between winning the Home Run Derby and a poor second half performance. Yes, players have won the Derby and done poorly in the second half (Anderson, Abreu) but just as many have put up monster stats after returning (Howard, Sosa). ...
