WEST VIRGINIA OWNED OKLAHOMA
Published 1/3/2008 at With Leather
... Oh, right: the game itself. West Fuckin' Virginia more or less dominated Oklahoma in a 48-28 win, which is fine with me because Oklahoma flat-out blows as a state, whereas WFV at least has some charm in the way it embraces its couch-burning culture. ...

Rich Rodriguez who? The interim now turned head coach of west Virginia Bill Stewart has the gig. Last night in the fiesta bowl he put on a display, winning display, kinda like what Rich Rod. couldn't do against Pittsburgh. In WVU 48-28 win over Oklahoma they did exactly what they were supposed to do. They ran wild, played solid defense and scored...at will. I have to give it to Stewart, he ...OKLAHOMA TRIED TO DROP WVU AS BOWL OPPONENT....How do they feel now?
Posted 1/3/2008 on Bleacher Report
A few weeks back the University of Oklahoma tried to drop West Virginia as their bowl opponent, stating that the competition would not be high enough. I'm just wondering how Bob Stoops feels now, considering the embarrasing loss to West Virginia 48-28. This game was not even close the main emphasis on this game was how could we play without a coach well apparently we did OK because we out ...West Virginia Stomps Oklahoma

That's what's up They were left for dead by their coach Rich Rodriguez, but the West Virginia Mountaineers pulled together and collectively ran over (literally) the Oklahoma Sooners last night, 48-28. Pat White again showed how much he can contribute to an NFL team, Noel Devine, that crazy fast freshman , filled in flawlessly for the injured Steve Slaton and the best fullback in the ...Fiesta Bowl: No Party for Oklahoma

West Virginia saved its best effort of the season for the Fiesta Bowl—and Oklahoma responded with its worst performance of the year. The result was a complete mismatch from the opening kickoff. West Virginia rushed for 349 yards, the most rushing yards ever allowed by Oklahoma in a bowl game. For the record, that's 349 yards without starting tailback Steve Slaton, who left in the ...River Of Tears

The Sooners walked into the buzz saw which was the WVU 'Eers last night. Despite their coach leaving them only a short time ago WVU brought the hammer of pain to Oklahoma in last night's Fiesta bowl. WVU looked great. Oklahoma looked like they might fight back as they narrowed it to 15-20 at one point but then the Mountaineers slammed the door shut with some big plays. Great game. The West Virginia Mountaineers didn't need coach Rich Rodriguez. They had Pat White, and their elusive quarterback led them to a surprising 48-28 romp over No. 3 Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl last night." As I watched the ending of the Fiesta Bowl I wondered what if? What if WE would have beaten Pitt? Everyone in the country was refering to Oklahoma as the number 1 skilled team in the country, well WVU put it on them bad! So, where does this put WVU? Over Georgia? After a blow out many said would me number one. Well, in my opinion this was a more convincing win all and all. But I ...The Fiesta Bowl: No Party for Oklahoma

(I don't need no coach!) I'm sitting here about to lay myself down to sleep and I turn the channel back to the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and see that West Virginia is winning 41-28. WVU isn't suppose to win right? Everyone at ESPN said they wouldn't. Of course everyone at ESPN said that Florida would ROLL over Michigan. Wrong. Oh so wrong. And now a WVU team that got knocked out of the ...WVU And Oklahoma Play In The Fiesta Tonight

T-Ray and I discussed over some beverages this past weekend how we miss the mad rush of the old New Year's Day bowl games. So I thought I should remind all of you and myself that WVU and Oklahoma play in the Fiesta Bowl tonight on Fox at 8:00PM. Why is this game is important? ...On Location: Must. Drink. Responsibly.

This will be the second consecutive WVU sporting event we have watched at the utterly implodable Charleston Civic Center. (If you’re wondering, it’s the giant piece of crap in the picture above.) Last Saturday’s Oklahoma game didn’t end too well, so let’s try and stop the losing streak at one. If you need me, I’ll be at the $12 tailgate buffet and, ...West Virginia-Oklahoma: A Sportsbook Point of View

I’m really looking forward to the Fiesta Bowl because, even after 13 Sooner games and 11 victories, I still don’t know how good they are. Early in the season, I railed against the starry-eyed poll voters launching Oklahoma up the rankings after big wins over the likes of North Texas, Miami, Utah State and Tulsa. Oh, look, cried the voters! The Sooners hung 79 on North Texas. Well, ...WVU vs. OU: Take 1
