Diamondback Eric Byrnes married a Pad Squadder!
I came across this article about the Diamondbacks Eric Byrnes.  It says that he married a Padres community relations person. Isn't Gaslamp Ball supposed to have inside sources that should have told us about this like months or years ago? Anyway, I could smell the B.S. from a mile away.  Don't try to make the job sound more sophisticated than it is!  Community Relations? ... [link]

Diamondbacks 10, Rockies 9 - Back to the Future?
Published 3/11/2008 by Jim McLennan <info@azsnakepit.com> at AZ Snakepit: Front Page Posts
... It's not often Gaslamp Ball and AZ SnakePit have much in common, but I think we were both equally shocked - shocked! - albeit in different directions, by the news that Eric Byrnes' wife, Tarah, used to be one of the Pad Squad, the San Diego equivalents of the Rally Backs. Really. I share your sense of betrayal at the news that Arizona "fan favorite" Byrnes is, literally, sleeping with the enemy. The Royals take on the hated Diamondbacks and newly married Eric Byrnes (he married a Pod Squader, how dare he!) this afternoon. Greinke, Duckworth and Braun slated to throw, according to the official site. Remember when I solicited poems about the Royals for a poetry preview Fanhouse was doing? Well, that post is up now. Congrats to Chaim on this honor.

Ni Hao: Dodgers Continue Growing Relations in China

Next week, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres will play two exhibition games in China, a historical moment for MLB, and the teams playing, to be sure. It will be the first series of games ever played between two MLB clubs in China. But, I was surprised to find that the Dodgers have an extensive relationship with Far East countries, and China in particular.
