The D’backs loaded up the bases in the 9th against David Aardsma with 1-out but he came back to strike out Upton and Byrnes.
Former Red Sox reliever Brandon Lyon came on for the Diamondbacks and set the Red Sox to just their 10th loss of the year at the Fens.
Justin Masterson takes the ball tomorrow for the home team as he will be opposed by cancer survivor Doug Davis.
