June 11th, 2008 . By: Chamo Jones An article in a Honduran newspaper mentions that CONMEBOL is deciding whether to invite Motagua (Honduran team) or FC Dallas to the competition. Fox Sports Televsion is a big player in the decision making process. The rival for the chosen team will be Arsenal (Argentina), the defending champion of the tournament. Copa Sudamericana was created in 2002 and has been growing in popularity ever since. This years edition kicks off in July, the final takes place in December. CONMEBOL is looking at inviting clubs not involved in the CONCACAF Champions league to avoid scheduling conflicts. All told the competition involves 34 clubs. Some ...

Some news that any MLS should be happy about, not just Dallas fans. An article in a Honduran newspaper mentions that CONMEBOL is deciding whether to invite Motagua (Honduras) or FC Dallas to the upcoming edition of the Copa Sudamericana set to start next month. CONMEBOL is looking at inviting clubs not involved in the CONCACAF Champions league to avoid scheduling conflicts. All told the competition involves 34 clubs. A great move if you ask me to include smaller clubs and other MLS clubs that don’t normally get included in international tournaments.
