mookie Overall, this is only of benefit to world basketball... and that of course includes the NBA. The creme della creme still find themselves in the NBA, whilst other guys developing in other parts of the world is never a bad thing.
Will the NBA continue to always attract the creme? Good question, worth pondering...

masidomus Yeah mookie, i agree. I think the NBA has the tools to attract anybody, besides hardcore nationalistic players. Then, they're playing for their country whilst IN their country. Those players would seem to be the hardest to attract.-
mookie Hmmm... yeah. The day an all-star in their prime decides to take a European contract (or South American, Asian or Australian contract for that matter!) over a gig in the NBA, that's when the tides will have really turned.

And One 2010 - the year Cleveland dreads . . . why stop at NY? Somehow, I would feel better if LB kept going, hopped a ship and dunked on Europe.

The Josh Childress Move

... Spurs come to mind. He could do some damage and fill some of their holes. But therein lies the problem. The Spurs would never give him as much money as the Greeks did. Less games, more money, nice climate. What's not to like? Good for him. Of course Childress' move grabbed headlines in the US and may have started a trend - Carl Landry may be next. I can't stress enough how diverse reactions have been thus far. Just compare recent posts by Kelly Dwyer and Red's Army. I tend to agree with the former. In fact the whole episode reminds me of Thomas L. ...

You know, the same team that set into motion a chain of events that is destroying the NBA. Yeah, that one. (Note: Christian Laettner never pissed excellence. His urine was always cloudy.) ...
