... open, KG was under the basket. It was a great play.”
I think the Raptors are going to be pretty good… so the C’s keeping them under 100 points even in an overtime game is big. I don’t know if it was the smartest decision to stop double-teaming Kevin Garnett in the overtime… but that’s what they did. It’s a good thing for Toronto that TJ Ford ate his Wheaties. And congrats, by the way, to Ray ...

Published 11/5/2007 by Tom Ziller at FanHouse
Filed under: Celtics, SuperSonics, SeattleFormer SuperSonic Ray Allen wouldn't be the first NBA player to speak out about Clay Bennett's pillaging of Seattle's basketball franchise... but Ray's certainly the biggest name to pass public judgment on the situation. (Sorry, Spence.)In this morning's Boston Globe, Ray says everyone in Seattle saw this (the relocation to Oklahoma City) coming when Bennett bought the team. "When the team was bought from the previous ownership they told us and everybody in ...

... given the franchise four solid seasons (four All-Star berths; a trip to the Playoffs) and was suddenly no longer needed because they were going in a different direction with Kevin Durant.
With the success in Boston and the situation in Seattle deteriorating in the most public fashion, I think it’s fair to say that Ray-Ray is quite happy now with the way things turned out.
He’s also not afraid to speak out against the new Sonics owners. From the Boston Globe:
“When the team was bought from the previous ownership ...

... his open teammates seem not to get the ball until they are covered. Therefore, down the stretch the offense was mainly Joe Johnson creating for himself. 82games.com confirms that over all of last season, the Hawks' rate of assisted field goals was 3% lower when Lue was on the floor compared to when he was off. What does all this mean for Atlanta? Maybe not all that much -- Anthony Johnson will be back soon, and Acie Law will eventially learn to say out of foul trouble. Doc Rivers' father dies. Ray Weighs In
Published 11/6/2007 by P Nussbaum at Supersonicsoul - The Sonics Blog!
In case you've missed it, Ray Allen had some choice words in the Boston Globe about the Sonics' ongoing situation, and he saved most of his bitterest terms for one Howard Schultz (You remember, Howard, right? You know, the guy who invented $6 coffees and paved the way for the Sonics to leave Seattle? Yeah, that Howard). ...
