Buzzie Bavasi, former GM for both the Dodgers (1951-1968) and Angels (1978-1984), has passed away at the age of 93, according to the AP.

Howard's blast leads Phillies into first place

With the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 8th, Howard hit a game winning home run to give the Phillies a 3-2 victory over the San Diego Padres. Howard also had a double earlier in the game that drove in a run. His two hits on the night rose his batting average to a robust .184 and also gives him 20 hits to go with his 40 strikeouts.....

The month of May certainly couldn't get here quick enough for the Padres, who after winning on Opening Day on March 31 proceeded to go 10-17 for the month of April. That's the worst mark for an April for the Padres since they went 7-17 in 1994.
