Having turned their pitching staff upside down Wednesday, the Dodgers turned to Chan Ho Park to shore up the bullpen, purchasing his contract while designating Angel Chavez for assignment, according to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com. (Gurnick also has a progress report on Jason Schmidt, who threw 40 pitches from the mound during a bullpen session before the game.) [link]

After signing that big contract with the Rangers before the 2002 season, Park never once played a full season because of injuries. He had zero good seasons in that span, with only halfway-decent season (2006).
