Andy LaRoche was the starting third baseman but was pulled in the top of the second for pinch-hitter Kevin Howard, a strange move. (Update: From today's DT gameday thread, apparently LaRoche was involved in an inning-ending play, a take out slide by Tomas Perez, in the bottom of the first that shook him up pretty good and caused the manager to pull him out of the game [h/t nofatmike #515].) ...
