Ethier also had a big role in this game, entering as a ninth-inning pinch hitter and getting a crucial one-out single to put men on the corners. The guy who really might get his playing time cut down is 0-for-5 Matt Kemp. (The fact that Jeff Kent went 0-for-4 will undoubtedly be ignored, as will the fact that Delwyn Young has a .292 average.)
