Joe Girardi on Edwar Ramirez and Kyle Farnsworth giving up three home runs in two innings: “You let them pass. They’ve been throwing the ball so well. Even Eddie tonight, he threw the ball so well. You hate for that to happen. I was happy with the way he threw the ball. Farnsy, he gave up a leadoff home run and then he bucked down. I’m not concerned.” Eddie?  ... [link]

Kyle, Edwar make it exciting

... Joe Girardi, meanwhile, just doesn’t get it. While no manager would throw his own players under the bus, Joe has been a little too gracious: “You let them pass. They’ve been throwing the ball so well. Even Eddie tonight, he threw the ball so well. You hate for that to happen. I was happy with the way he threw the ball. Farnsy, he gave up a leadoff home run and then he bucked down. I’m not concerned.” ...

Published 6/19/2008 by jscape2000 at Pinstripe Alley: Front Page Posts
... Via LoHud: Brian Bruney showed up after the game. He said his bullpen in Tampa “was awful” yesterday because he was all over the place. He also felt some pain in his foot on some pitches. When The Biz of Baseball ran its roundtable compilation entitled, State of Major League Baseball – 2008 , we got 30 responses from a broad range of people that cover the sport. One thing was covered by more than one: MLB's need to market stars. Could it be that ethnicity is the reason many MLB players aren't pitchmen for corporate America?

Simulation Says: if Babe Ruth played in the 90's he would have had TWO seasons of 100 or more home runs AND 200+ RBI. And then hit .400 another year. And Barry Bonds wouldn't have done too badly in the 20's either.
