Game 1
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees won the first game of the double header against the Louisville Bats by a score of 4-0. Starting for Scranton was Dan Giese and he pitched a complete game shut out giving up 3 hits for the win. Giese’s era is 0.96. The only negative about Giese is that he is 31 years old. The hitting stars of the game for Scranton were center fielder Brett Gardner, first baseman Juan Miranda and catcher Chris Stewart. Gardner went 1 for 2 with 1 run scored. Miranda went 1 for 2 with 1 run scored and 2 rbi’s along with a big, look at my pose as I hit the long ball, farther than far, most ridiculous, home, run, BAHHHHMB!! Stewart went 1 for 3 with 1 run scored.

Game 2
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees lost the second game of the double header against the Louisville Bats by a score of 4-2. Starting for Scranton was Kei Igawa and he gave up 4 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings for the loss but 2 runs he gave up were unearned because of a fielding error by third baseman Cody Ransom. The minor leagues play 7 innings in double headers. The hitting stars of the game for Scranton were third baseman Cody Ransom and catcher JD Closser. Ransom went 3 for 4 with 1 rbi and Closser went 1 for 2 with 1 run scored.

The Trenton Thunder beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats by a score of 5-3. Starting for the Trenton Thunder was Chase Wright and he pitched a “good” game giving up 3 earned runs on 5 hits in 7 innings of work for the win. Replacing Wright to start the 8th inning was Anthony Claggett and he pitched 2 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits for the save. The hitting stars of the game for Trenton were short stop Ramiro Pena, center fielder Austin Jackson and second baseman Reegie Corona. Pena went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored. Jackson went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored and 4 rbi’s along with a monstrous, over the mountain, moon shot, every body rejoice, most ridiculous, home, run, BAHHHMB!!!. Corona went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored.

The Tampa Yankees won over the Fort Myers Miracle by a score of 3-2 in 11 innings. Starting for Tampa was pitching sensation Eric Hacker and he gave up 1 run on 5 hits in 6 innings of work for the no decision but the run he gave up was unearned because of a fielding error by second baseman Damon Sublett. Hacker’s era is now an unbelievable 0.75. Replacing Hacker to start the 7th inning was Kevin Whelan and he pitched 2 scoreless innings giving up 1 hit. Josue Selenes pitched the 9th and 10th inning and he blew the game but won the game and he gave up 1 earned run on 2 hits in 2 innings. Philip Bartleski saved the game in the 11th inning while giving up no runs and no hits but he walked 2. The hitting star of the game for Tampa was center fielder Seth Fortenberry and he went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 1 rbi along with a see ya later, alligator, I can’t believe what he just did, hurt your feelings, type of, home, run, BAHHHHHHHHHHHHMB!!!! Seth Fortenberry hit a triple in the top of the 11th inning and scored on a wild pitch.

The Charleston RiverDogs lost to the Asheville Tourist by a score of 3-1. Starting for the RiverDogs was Dellin Betances and he gave up 1 run on 6 hits in 6 innings of work for the no decision but the run he gave up was unearned because of a fielding error by first baseman Chase Odenreider. The hitting stars of the game for the RiverDogs were center fielder Austin Krum and short stop Carmen Angelini. Krum went 0 for 4 with 1 rbi and Angelini went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored. The RiverDogs left the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th inning. Ouch.
