Starting for Tampa was Ivan Nova and he gave up 3 runs on 9 hits in 7 innings of work for the win but 1 run was unearned because of a fielding error by shortstop Eduardo Nunez. The Charleston RiverDogs won a close game over West Virginia Power by a score of 9-8 with a walk off walk in the bottom of the 12th inning. Starting for the RiverDogs was Dellin Betances and he did not pitch well giving up 5 earned runs on 7 hits in 4 innings for the no decision. Replacing Betances to start the 5th inning was Chace Vacek and he gave up 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings.
