The Trenton Thunder won a low scoring game over the Binghamton Mets by a score of 2-0. Starting for Trenton was Brian Bruney and he pitched a scoreless first inning giving up 1 hit. Replacing Bruney to start the 2nd inning was Phil Coke and he pitched great giving up no runs on 3 hits in 8 innings of work along with 11 strikeouts for the win. The hitting star of the game for Trenton worth mentioning was Chris Malec who went 4 for 4 with 2 rbi’s along with a home run.

The Tampa Yankees won easily over the Vero Beach Rays by a score of 6-3. Starting for Tampa was Ivan Nova and he gave up 3 runs on 9 hits in 7 innings of work for the win but 1 run was unearned because of a fielding error by shortstop Eduardo Nunez. Replacing Nova to start the 8th inning was Edgar Soto and he pitched .2 of a scoreless inning giving up 1 hit. Following Soto was Jonathan Hovis and he pitched 1.1 perfect innings for his 9th save. The hitting stars worth mentioning for Tampa were DH Josh Kreuzer, centerfielder Seth Fortenberry and left-fielder Tim Battle. Kreuzer went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored and 3 rbi’s along with a home run. Fortenberry went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored and Battle went 1 for 3 with 1 run scored.

The Charleston RiverDogs won a close game over West Virginia Power by a score of 9-8 with a walk off walk in the bottom of the 12th inning. Starting for the RiverDogs was Dellin Betances and he did not pitch well giving up 5 earned runs on 7 hits in 4 innings for the no decision. Replacing Betances to start the 5th inning was Chace Vacek and he gave up 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Following Betances to start the 7th inning was Noel Castillo and he gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits in 3 innings. Jonathan Ortiz came in to start the 11th inning and pitched 2 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits for the win. The hitting stars of the game for the RiverDogs worth mentioning were catcher Austin Romine who went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi’s a long with a home run and third baseman Bradley Suttle who went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi’s. The Power walked 2 batters to walk the bases loaded with 1 out to face Carmen Angelini and Angelini walked to help the RiverDogs win.
