The Staten Island Yankees lost big to the Jamestown Jammers by a score of 7-2. Starting for Staten Island was Nick Asselin and he gave up 4 earned runs on 5 hits in 2.2 innings of work for the loss. Replacing Asselin was Andy Shive and he gave up 2 earned runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Following Shive was Drew Shetrone and he gave up 1 earned run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. Jacinto Gonell pitched a scoreless 8th inning. The hitting star of the game for Staten Island worth mentioning was Mike Lyon and he went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 rbi along with a home run.

Rookie

The DSL Yankees1 destroyed the DSL Royals by a score of 14-6. Starting for the DSL Yankees1 was Edison Mejia and he gave up 5 runs on 1 hit in 4.2 innings for the no decision but all 5 runs were unearned because of a fielding error by third baseman Ali Castillo. Replacing Mejia was Francis Moreta and he walked the first two batters he faced and then was yanked from the game. Wilfi Bravo replaced Moreta and pitched 3.1 scoreless innings giving up 4 hits for the win. Manuel Rodino pitched the 9th inning and gave up 1 earned run on 1 hit.

The hitting stars of the game for the DSL Yankees1 worth mentioning were left-fielder Josue Rodriguez, DH Luilly Baez and first baseman Jose Ramirez. Rodriguez went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 3 rbi’s. Baez went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 5 rbi’s along with a home run and Ramirez went 4 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi’s along with a home run.

Rookie

The DSL Yankees2 lost to the DSL Twins by a score of 3-0. Starting for the DSL Yankees2 was Jose Ramirez and he gave up 2 earned runs on 3 hits in 4 innings of work for the loss. Replacing Ramirez to start the 5th inning was Wilkinson Eusebio and he gave up 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings but the run was unearned because of a throwing error by Wilkinson Eusebio on the pickoff attempt. Sherssy Cruz pitched a perfect 8th inning. The hitting star of the game for the DSL Yankees2 was center fielder Eduardo Sosa who went 2 for 4.

Rookie

The GCL Yankees got destroyed by the GCL Braves and lost by a score of 7-1. Starting for the GCL Yankees was Ronny Marte and he gave up 1 run on 3 hits in 3.1 innings of work for the loss but the run was unearned because of a passed ball by catcher Francisco Arcia. Replacing Marte was Clint Preisendorfer and he didn’t get an out giving up 1 earned run on 4 walks. Israel Batista came in the game and faced one batter and got him out. Following Batista to start the 5th inning was Dickson Marquez and he gave up 5 runs on 6 hits in 5 innings but 1 run was unearned because of a fielding error by left fielder Christopher Smith. The hitting stars of the game for the GCL Yankees were second baseman Jose Pirela who went 1 for 4 with 1 rbi and right-fielder Chad Gross who went 1 for 4 with 1 run scored.
