The Staten Island Yankees won easily over the Jamestown Jammers by a score of 7-4. Starting for Staten Island was Casey Erickson and he pitched 5 scoreless innings giving up 7 hits along with 6 strikeouts for the no decision. Replacing Erickson to start the 6th inning was Josue Selenes and he gave up 4 earned runs on 2 hits in .1 of an inning. Tim Dennehy came in for Selenes and he pitched 1.2 scoreless innings giving up 1 hit for the blown save because even though his line is 1.2 scoreless innings, he did allow 2 batters that got on base from Selenes to score. Following Dennehy to pitch the 8th inning was Pat Venditte and he pitched 2 scoreless innings giving up 1 hit along with 4 strikeouts for his 10th save. The hitting stars of the game for the Staten Island Yankees worth mentioning were DH Brian Baisley, short stop Addison Maruszak and first baseman Jahdiel Santamaria. Baisley went 1 for 4 with 2 rbi’s. Maruszak went 3 for 5 with 1 run scored and 2 rbi’s along with a home run and Santamaria went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored.

Rookie

The DSL Yankees1 won a close scoring game over the DSL Mets by a score of 6-4. Starting for the DSL Yankees1 was Joel Marte and he gave up 1 earned run on 4 hits in 4 innings of work for the no decision. Replacing Marte to start the 5th inning was Rafael Martinez and he gave up 3 earned runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Following Martinez to start the 7th inning was Gerald Rojas and he pitched 3 scoreless innings giving up 3 hits for the win. The hitting stars of the game for the DSL Yankees1 worth mentioning were third baseman Ali Castillo, right-fielder Yaquensi Romero and short stop Arturo Pena. Castillo went 2 for 4 with 1 rbi. Romero went 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 3 rbi’s along with a home run and Pena went 1 for 3 with 1 run scored.

Rookie

The DSL Yankees2 won easily over the DSL Diamondbacks by a score of 8-3. Starting for the DSL Yankees2 was Justo Arias and he gave up 3 earned runs on 5 hits in 4 innings of work for the no decision. Replacing Arias to start the 5th inning was Alejandro Martinez and he pitched 2 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits for the win. Following Martinez to start the 7th inning was Alan Atacho and he pitched 2 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits along with 3 strike outs. Atacho has a 0.98 era. Israel Tolentino pitched a perfect 9th inning. The hitting stars of the game for the DSL Yankees2 worth mentioning were third baseman Elio De La Rosa, short stop Jose Toussen and first baseman Juan Rijo. De La Rosa went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 rbi. Toussen went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 3 rbi’s and Rijo went 2 for 4 with 1 rbi.

Rookie

The GCL Yankees lost a high scoring game to the GCL Indians by a score of 13-9. Starting for the GCL Yankees was Manuel Barreda and he gave up 1 earned run on 2 hits in 1 inning for the no decision. Replacing Barreda to start the second inning was Gabriel Tatis and he gave up 7 runs on 6 hits in 2 innings for the loss but 3 runs were unearned because of a fielding error by first baseman Mitchell Delaney. Following Tatis to start the 4rth inning was Ryan Flannery and he pitched 3 scoreless innings giving up 1 hit and has an era of 0.55. Shawn Joy pitched the 7th and 8th innings and gave up 5 earned runs on 5 hits.

The hitting stars of the game worth mentioning for the GCL Yankeees were left-fielder Chad Gross, right-fielder Zoilo Almonte and third baseman Spencer Lucian. Gross went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi’s. Almonte went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi’s along with a home run and Lucian went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 rbi along with a home run.
