Draft preview: Offensive line breakdowns Links3
Success in the NFL can be difficult to achieve unless a team works together as a cohesive unit. After all, pro football is the ultimate team sport. In the world of fantasy football, we cheer for heroes such as Tom Brady , Peyton Manning , LaDainian Tomlinson and Randy Moss to fill the stat sheets and lead our teams to victory. But even the most prominent players can't be productive all alone. ... [link]

Props for the Vikings Offensive Line
Published 5/19/2008 by Anthony Hall at Vikings War Cry
The praise from the national media just keeps rolling in. Yesterday, we linked to an article from the Sporting News that stated the Vikings have the best safeties in the NFL — and today, we tracked down offensive line rankings from NFL.com that list the Vikes as having the eighth-best blockers in the league: Based on the success of Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor, it’s no shock that the Vikes had the best run line in the NFL in 2007. No team averaged more touchdowns per carry (22.4) or yards per carry (5.3), as C Matt Birk, G Steve Hutchinson and T Bryant “Mount” McKinnie opened huge holes for A.P. and Taylor to dash through all season. Their pass line ...

For now, check out Pancake Blocks. Links The Vikings and Chiefs will practice against each other at River Falls, Wisconsin on July 31st this summer (Vikings.com). I've watched a lot of Chiefs' training camp at River Falls, and I've been to the Vikings-Chiefs scrimmage there a couple of times (2000 and 2003, if I remember correctly). ...

Vikings Notes: OTA Tidbits, Defensive End Rankings
Published 5/20/2008 by Anthony Hall at Vikings War Cry
With a hat tip to the Daily Norseman for spotting this article, here’s a noteworthy tidbit from Vikings.com about Monday’s OTA at Winter Park: The three most impressive plays were turned in by familiar Vikings faces. Tarvaris Jackson and Robert Ferguson hooked up for the first highlight-caliber play. Jackson took the snap, stumbled a bit on his drop back, looked off the safety and read progressively all the way to Ferguson’s side. Jackson then threw a laser to Ferguson and he reached out to haul in the pass and tip-toe along the sideline. The last play of highlight-caliber also came from Jackson, only this time he hooked up with second-year receiver Sidney Rice. On the ...

Meet Chris Williams: But does he have a big head?

Per KFFL.com, Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune says that Bears general manager Jerry Angelo isn’t worried about left tackle Chris Williams’ short arms. Wait. What?
