fastbreakblog +2I thought the dunk competition was poor. I think it is time for them to hang stuff like that up. The game itself was nothing to write home about either. -
IFChris um, if that was a dunk, then what the NCAA outlaw when Lew Alcindor was playing at UCLA? -
char6587 i dont think we should be voting down comments just because they don't agree with what you believe. i think fastbreakblog is talking stupid also, but I don't think that we shoud vote down and effectively delete his comment because of that.

allonthefield I'm agree with Red Baron as well. Dwight Howard was scintillating. And as for the dunk without a rim touch, I find that very impressive. Reminds me of the days when I used to put it down on that six foot hoop in my back alley. -
Patrick If Howard wants to dunk without touching the rim, who are we to say he can't? It's like telling Superman he can't fly because it doesn't obey the laws of physics. They are not bound by our primitive "scientific" laws. Let’em fly.

Dwight Howard Meant to Throw the Ball Down During the Superman Dunk
Published 2/20/2008 by Will Brinson at FanHouse
Filed under: Magic, Eastern, NBA Last Night, NBA All-Star Game There has been all sorts of clamberings-on about whether or not Dwight Howard's "Superman" dunk actually counted as a dunk or not. He did, after all, literally throw the ball through the hoop and never actually touch the rim. And to some, that has been a point of contention, particularly given that D-Ho was quickly awarded the dunk contest (mainly by Kenny Smith) and proclaimed to have performed a top five dunk of all time. But according to Howard himself, in a HoopsWorld courtside interview last night, he meant to throw the ball ...
Howard on Superman Throwdown: It’s a dunk any way you slice it

Anyone who hated on Dwight Howard’s Superman dunk for the sole reason that he didn’t actually “dunk” the ball, well, you sirs, I do not agree with. In fact, it seems like his throwing of the ball into the net is a more difficult feat than your standard slam. Eagle-eye reporter and fellow MLB FanHouse scribe Matt Watson got the skinny on Dwight Howard’s Superman dunk from the man himself last evening after the Magic’s 103-85 drudging of the Detroit Pistons.
The innovator wants everyone to know the throw in was intentional:
Me: “I’ve got to ask, you didn’t actually touch the rim ...

A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out. C: Sports Biz. Darren Rovell wants commission on Shaquille O'Neal's new "Big Cactus" nickname. PF: HOOPSWORLD. Dwight Howard says he meant to throw the "Superman dunk" in. SF: on 205th. A fine YouTube collection of some of the worst dunks of all-time. SG: Detroit Bad Boys. DBB reader Mike Payne ...
So, Howard Meant to Not Actually Dunk the Ball?
Published 2/20/2008 at The Sporting Blog
... I came away from All-Star Weekend with two gripping question: What was the deeper meaning of Gerald Green's shoeless dunk, and why didn't Dwight Howard actually dunk on his Superman routine? We'll probably never know the answer to the first one, but Matt Watson asked Big Dwight about the most famous semi-dunk in history: ...

If you want to see some bad rap…and I mean REALLY bad rap…then click this link. It’s a video of a teenage suburban Detroit Lions fan doing what no teenage suburban Detroit Lions fan should ever do — make a rap tribute for his favorite squad. As a Vikings fan, I’ve never been fond of Millen’s team, but this song somehow managed to increase my dislike even further for the Lions…first of all, because this kid apparently thinks that Flo Rida’s “Low” is actually a good song, and secondly, because he’s the worst rapper I’ve heard since Kevin ...
