... at least get caught doing so. And in a career in which networking is critical for job placement, those who go against the silent code are exiled, left to scrap their way back or wait in hope that someone offers a lifeboat. Bliss, by the way, got to coach in the NBDL for a year and actually felt like he has re-habbed enough to start showing up at the Final Four once more. Read it all. East Carolina desperately has wanted in to the Big East since the re-formatting a few years ago. They still want to find their way in . Even if just in football. OK, but what if a deal too sweet ...

Published 5/15/2008 at Fanblogs.com
Let's not go overboard just yet, but these storylines are certainly reminiscent of the great summer shakedown of 2003.

Sources have confirmed to FOX13 Sports that University of Memphis officials have been in serious talks with the Big East about joining the conference.
And while those talks are progressing, East Carolina is essentially throwing itself at the Big East.
Just for kicks, let's put one on the ...

... Last week, the buzz was East Carolina (and maybe Memphis) offering to do anything for the Big East – and they mean anything – in an all-out effort to get the hell out of Conference USA. This week, it's ECU athletic director Terry Holland's idea to inflate the league until it naturally cleaves into two separate leagues under one banner, an idea that meets with some non-committal assent from Charleston Daily Mail sports editor Jack Bogaczyk, whose not sure what's up with ...
