Edgar Renteria and Orlando Cabrera Ain’t Friends
If you want to read one of the more bizarre stories about a member of the Detroit Tigers and his shortstop counterpart on the White Sox, read this one from ESPN.com titled: NOW IT’S PERSONAL The two best baseball players ever from Colombia, Edgar Renteria and Orlando Cabrera, are engaged in a bitter feud and trading verbal attacks. It’s going to be a long, hot summer in the ... [link]

Edgar Renteria and Orlando Cabrera do not get along these days
Published 4/24/2008 at Big League Stew
... course, and it's a shame to read that Colombia isn't big enough for both of them, especially since they've both won World Series titles and become very successful here in the U.S. The strange part is that, just like the Venezuelan spat between Ozzie Guillen and Magglio Ordonez in 2005, this one also involves the Tigers and White Sox. But unlike that episode, this rift doesn't look like it's going to be resolved anytime soon. A big BLS head nod goes to Daily Fungo for the tip.

Edgar Renteria + Orlando Cabrera = Vendetta!

They're not actually called vendettas in Columbia. They're called polemicas . I think. But whatever they're called, they mean the same thing: two people hate each other, and no one's backing down. Welcome to the relationship between Edgar Renteria ...

Columbia's Finest Are Not BFFs
The country of Columbia is known for many things, and most of those things have a lot to do with the country's biggest export: cocaine. What Columbia isn't known for really. is producing top baseball players. While other South American, Central American, and Caribbean countries produce baseball players by the boatloads (literally), Columbia has always been more of a soccer obsessed country.
ESPN running amok in the Caribbean; why is it news that two Colombian baseball players have a problem?
It wasn’t enough that we all had to be dragged through the Miguel Tejada ordeal by ESPN (yes, fine, big deal; but why make a spectacle out of it?), the Mother Ship from Bristol has decided to criss-cross the Caribbean from the sunny beaches of the Dominican Republic to the northern coast of Colombia to bring us the apparent bad blood between its two most prominent baseball players, ...
Oakland Hurting for Thomas?
Freshly released by the Toronto Blue Jays, who dumped the slumper who believes it had to do with next year’s vest, Frank Thomas may have a former club on his next dance card—the Oakland Athletics , for whom the Big Hurt opened 2006 with a bigger hurt before regrouping, romping enough, and becoming a big enough factor in the A’s wresting the American League West from the ...

Wellemeyer Snell 2-0, 3.24 2-1, 4.07 dear brendan ryan: just field the position. yes the cards need some production out of the ss slot, but the key to winning the manager's trust (and, ergo, more playing time) is to make the plays. meanwhile the cards' old shortstop, edgar renteria, is hatin' on orlando cabrera   . . . . .
Edgar Renteria and Orlando Cabrera, are engaged in a bitter feud and trading verbal attacks
Bah!...Just stick the two of them on Sofia Vergara’s bumpy float during Carnival of Barranquilla...and everthing will be fine! In retrospect, it seems obvious that the two stars should never have done business together. “Really, there has never been a relationship with Orlando,” says Rentería, an 11-year major league veteran. “We’ve never been friends.” But last year Team Rentería, a family ...

The OC vs Renteria
This isn’t a statistical analysis discussing who is a better shortstop; apparently Orlando Cabrera and Edgar Renteria flat out don’t like eachother. Actually, I should clarify, Renteria doesn’t like OC and Cabrera is baffled as to why the hate (child). From the article linked before: In the tunnels of Detroit’s Comerica Park, a clubhouse attendant, much like a ...
