Big Swings From a Big Man

From The D.C. Sports Bog, and he’s not even exaggerating: What happens at 1:45 . . . will almost certainly be the highlight of Spring Training no matter what happens over the next two weeks. Like, I’m not sure if Dmitri Young arm wrestling Paul Lo Duca blindfolded for a can of baked beans would match this. This video also prompted this exchange: Me: It’s Elijah Dukes hitting golf balls. Hitting the Christ out of them. Andrea: Is “golf ...

... spent his Friday evening, the last thing I would have guessed was "alone with a bucket of balls at the driving range." But that's what he was doing when Washington Post videographer Jon Forsythe stumbled upon him at the local range. Define “nightlife.” If you mean “chain restaurants that are packed at 5 p.m. and bars that close at 10 p.m.,” it’s awesome. 5. Do players ogle Lindsay Czarniak as much as the media seems to? Oh, that’s odd… Lindsay was in Viera? Hmmm. Never noticed her. 6. Has Elijah Dukes threatened you or anyone you know? No, in fact Elijah has agreed to give me golf lessons . 7. How much are we going to love Lastings Milledge in this town? L Millz is going to be huge in D.C., no question. Infectious smile, ...

Elijah Dukes commits first misstep with the Nationals
Published 6/11/2008 at Big League Stew
When the Nats signed Elijah Dukes in the offseason, they did so with the knowledge that they'd have to deal with some off-field problems in exchange for his considerable on-field talent.
