 End of the dream Links3
Carey Price says he's not going to look at his goaltending equipment for three months. He's soon going to hop into his big, black truck and drive west across Canada, "and I'll probably have to fill up a couple of dozen times," he says, the cost of gas the least of his worries. Canadiens' season over
Published 5/4/2008 by Kevin Mio at Habs Inside/Out
The Canadiens will be packing their gear and cleaning out their lockers for the summer after being eliminated by the Philadelphia Flyers four game to one in the Eastern Conference semifinals on Satuday night. Despite outplaying the Flyers in many of the games, the Canadiens were unable to overcome Martin Biron's play and were done in by R.J. Umberger, who scored eight goals in the five-game series, including two during the deciding Game 5. Here's a look at what's being said about Saturday's game: • Dave Stubbs: End of the dream • Pat Hickey: Stellar season ends on sour note • Herb zurkowsky: Richards gives Flyers a boost • Red ...

Price Drained After Defeat
Published 5/4/2008 by Paul at KK Hockey
from Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette, “They find a hole here and there, we don’t, and we’re going home,” said Price, who was just out of his teens when he broke training camp with the Canadiens last October. “It feels like I’ve been playing for two years straight,” he said, having suited up in junior, minor pro and NHL hockey in the space of less than a year. “It’s been a lot of fun, but I’m drained. The difference between winning and losing is fighting through it. I just wish I could have played better.” It will be Garbage Bag Day at the Bell Centre early this week, the depressing exercise of a team emptying their dressing-room stalls for a long summer. more ...

Flyers worked harder, got stops from Biron

Flyers eliminate the Habs

No, Carey Price wasn't very good in this series, but neither were his teammates. The better team won it tonight, and given we're talking about the sixth seeded Flyers, a club that narrowly avoided a late-season meltdown to make the playoffs, that speaks volumes. Still, it's worth noting that there was really little separating these teams in the regular season.
