An MRI on Yunel Escobar's left shoulder has showed an inflamed rotator cuff, and the young shortstop is considered day-to-day, according to Braves spokesman Brad Hainje. That's a breath of fresh air for the Braves, who already have 10 players on the disabled list and head into the second half of the season trying to get players back from injury, not to add to the list. Tim Lincecum is unlikely to appear at the All-Star Game tonight, as he “was in a Manhattan hospital Tuesday being treated for flu-like symptoms”, according to The San Francisco Chronicle (click here for the article).  It shouldn’t influence past the next day or two, most likely, so nothing that owners need to be concerned about. Technically this isn't a save situation, I'm just getting an inning of work in to stay fresh. Look, there was no way I was going to sit home and watch the All-Star Game, but the restaurant where I had dinner (and a few adult beverages) had it on. Alas, the game proved worthy of attention, between buffalo tenders, pasta and shrimp. The exhibition had reached extra innings as I headed home - at that point you start rooting for the extension of the contest, and for Bud Selig to look as silly as possible.
