Garnett Furious at Stupid ESPN Poll
Sports of Boston —
... my career. You don’t joke about something like that.”
Reaction: What a stupid poll idea by ESPN.com. I totally agree with Garnett’s dismay over the poll subject. ESPN.com was totally out of line (even though it was on Page 2) to poll whether someone wanted an athlete to blow out his knee. I mean, that’s like making a poll asking whether you cared if Sean Taylor died or not. Totally classless.
ESPN.com apparently felt bad too, rightfully issuing an apology:
“Friday’s ESPN.com Page 2 poll ...
KG's got an answer for you, ESPN
Ball Don't Lie —
I've been at this whole internets thing for a while, so I can understand what ESPN.com was thinking when they offered up an offensive poll question on Page 2 last week. Irreverence, even when needed, doesn't always come easily, and poll questions aren't always the easiest to come by. I should know, because I was creating them for NBA websites when Page 2 was just a glimmer in Mickey and Minnie's eye. Some were good, others were lousy, and the best ones (such as the poll that asked what we should call 1998's drawn out NBA lockout, which ended in our site referring to the labor stalemate as "the Cabbage" for a good month and a half) were rarely cobbled together by yours truly. ...
ESPN Asks the Tough Dumb Questions

After it ran some idiotic poll on its website, and the Celtics caught wind of it, ESPN apologized.

ESPN Poll Asks If Kevin Garnett Blows Out His Knee
SPORTSbyBROOKS —
THERE IS SOME HOPE FOR HUMANITY, ESPN.COM USERS: ESPN has spent the past three days apologizing for this wonderful poll that it ran last Friday: The BOSTON HERALD has coverage , and KG's reax: " Wow, thats really distasteful, man ." To the credit of ESPN.com users, only four percent of users ticked off the Garnett box ( screen from AA ). If that's not an indicator of just how distracted Knicks fans are about the whole Isiah-Dolan debacle, we don't know what is.
ESPN apologizes to Garnett
Sports Scope —
A quick statement from ESPN via the Boston Herald : "Fridayâs ESPN.com Page 2 poll used very poor judgment in its option about Kevin Garnett. The poll was removed immediately upon the senior editorial staff becoming aware, and we sincerely regret the error in judgment. We are addressing the issue and apologize to Kevin Garnett, to the Celtics organization and to those offended by the poll question. Obviously, we wish good health to all athletes." Well, obviously. Right? What would put such a basic bit of good intentions in doubt? That would be a Page 2 poll asking which event readers would most like to see befall Boston and New England: a Patriots loss to the ...
STUPID SPORTS SH!T: BAD WEATHER
Epic Carnival —
by Chris Richardson, Intentional Foul What's the good word folks? In KC, it's ice... or ice storm depending on your vocabulary. Anyway, this is what I'm up against tonight, so forgive if it goes astray (But when I woke up this mornin', coulda sworn it was judgment day)... and yes, you read that correctly. I did just use some Prince lyrics in my post. Here's the vid if you wanna see it. As I said, there's some bad weather on the way and I'm going to hurry a little bit with my post: See what I mean? Anyway, on to some stupid sh!t. ESPN Poll Department Sucks I'm sure you've ...
ESPN: We’re sorry we asked you if you’d like to see Kevin Garnett blow out his knee
The Postmen // A Sports Blog // Chicago, IL. —
By now, even the novice sporting fan is privy to the New England takeover that is current among us. The Patriots are pwning n00bs every week; the Red Sox just won a World Series; the Celtics are the darlings of this young NBA season. So with that in mind, ESPN decided to do one of their infamous poll questions, a “What would you rather see?” type deal.
I’ll let the Boston Herald elaborate.
The question, based on the success of Boston’s professional sports teams, asked whether voters would rather see the Patriots lose to the Steelers, Johan Santana be traded to a team other than the Red Sox or Kevin Garnett blow out his ...
Sorry, KG!
NBA-Blog —
