Subject of one of the oddest soundbites last spring, from one of the Chicago papers: "David Aardsma's improvement in the final two weeks of spring training helped him win a spot on the Cubs Opening Day roster. Aardsma credited former teammate Michael Wuertz with helping him develop a second pitch to complement his 95-m.p.h. fastball." Huh? I could swear when the Giants drafted him he had a "second pitch," called a curveball. Did he forget how to throw it? Was it an optical illusion?
