Tomlin's First Move: Arians Retained, Promoted

... The news was a little different for Russ Grimm, who decided to follow Ken Whisenhunt to Arizona. This, of course, was most likely inevitable. It's pretty difficult to imagine Grimm - one of Pittsburgh's coaching finalists - working underneath the man who beat him out for the job.

... As expected, Russ Grimm didn’t stick around to work for Mike Tomlin. He’s gone to be with his buddy Ken down in Arizona, where he’ll be the Cardinals new offensive line. Ok, not really, but he’d probably do a better job than their current excuse for an O-line. He’s big enough, anyway.

... Following not getting the job, it was apparent that Grimm would not return to the Steelers organization. Although there wasn't anything near official going on, many suggested Russ Grimm to join the Lions staff as OL coach. Unfortunately, before anything like that could even happen, the Arizona Cardinals made a move and signed Grimm as an assistant coach and offensive line coach. Grimm rejoins former Steelers colleague Ken Whisenhunt, who became the Cardinals coach last week.
