Keith Law speaks on Burrell
DRaysBayKeith Law speaks on Burrell Like everyone else, he likes it.

The Price of Manny Plummets (Along With Gas Prices)
Sons of Steve Garvey — "Gas is up and so am I," sayeth Manny Ramirez. He scoffed at arbritration. He spit on the Dodgers' first offer (which was admittedly much shorter in duration than he desired). And now, Pat Burrell goes out and signs a two-year deal with the Rays for the low low price of $16M. Rob Neyer thinks it's a steal, echoing the rest of the ESPN brass. Rays Sign Burrell
Vegas Watch — Rays sign Pat Burrell for two years, $16MM. Analysis: Snyder, Cameron, Szymborski, LL, Law. CHONE projection: .236/.366/.429, 492 PAs, 23 homers, 13 RAA/150. That SLG seems really low, but I suppose the combined effect of changing leagues and parks and getting a year older is significant. I'm certainly not one to argue with CHONE. Comparing this to the Ibanez contract is shooting fish in a barrel, and has already been done at most of the links above, so I'm not going to bother. It is pretty hilarious though. That'll probably do it for Tampa's big offseason move; swapping ...
