Easterbrook tears into ex-Bills GM Donahoe
Buffalo Bills — While watching draft coverage on ESPN this weekend, I cringed when Chris Mortensen found a way to bring up former Bills GM Tom Donahoe. I believe it was after the Patriots took quarterback Kevin O’Connell. Mort said that he talked to Donahoe before the draft and the worst decision maker in NFL history had the QB in his top three. At that point, I decided O’Connell would accomplish little in this league. The Bills receive a lot of flak on ESPN and the NFL Network for being out of the playoffs since 1999. Yet few people point to the reason for this. So, I was pleased to read that ESPN’s Gregg Easterbrook pointed this out in his Tuesday ...

FMTMQR: Gregg Easterbrook Thinks You Are a Fan of the TV Show "Friends"
Fire Jay Mariotti — So I'm sitting there, looking at LOLCats (and subsequently laughing out loud, just like the name promises), when I realize that I never finished this up. Everyone enjoy it- it's the last we'll hear from Mr. Young Joe Pesci Lookalike until August. I also hope you don't take tenths or hundredths of a second seriously, though the draftnik system surely does. I'm skipping his big intro about how the draft is a quasi-joke because no one really knows which players will be good and which won't. It's wrong, it's right, it's been done before. Let's instead jump to Gregg's completely asinine attempts to ...

Weekly Wisconsin Sports Wank
The Rogue Hour — Packers. I would rather not say anything about this whole 'Leroy Butler says Brett doesn't want to retire' thing. I'm not going to be jerked around by anymore of this rumor and innuendo. But I suppose I have to since this is a blog that is in part themed around Wisconsin sports. I'm just really surprised that it is Leroy Butler of all people who is the source of this latest one. He has always carried himself in a dignified manner on the field and in the community, but this story has a side-show spectacle feel to it. And at the same time the average Packer fan is saying to themselves 'but it's Leroy Butler saying this, not some sissy pants ...
