Hall to Raiders

... I have promoted to the front page. Use this as a leaping off point for Hall discussion. Update [2008-3-15 22:39:20 by Dave the Falconer]:The AJC, God bless it, is now reporting that the deal would include a second and sixth round pick. That makes the deal a little better, especially if the rumors of David Irons looking plenty capable are true. Sorry to jack your diary, SG. We get their second rounder, pending Hall agreeing to a contract. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3295344 Personally, im a little dissappointed. I ...
Source: DeAngelo Hall to Raiders for Second-Rounder
Published 3/15/2008 by Doug Farrar at Football Outsiders
Source: DeAngelo Hall to Raiders for Second-Rounder Former Atlanta Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall, who has been asking for a trade out of the organization for a long time, got his wish today. ESPN.com reports that the eighth overall pick in 2004 will depart for Oakland in exchange for the Raiders’ second-round pick in 2008. The Raiders and Hall are reportedly close on a contract that will pay the player Asante Samuel money (of course, Al Davis is giving Asante Samuel money to backup centers these days, but I digress). In the short term, this means that the Oakland cornerback ...

Oakland Raider's News: Is This The End For Fabian or Routt?
Published 3/16/2008 by saint <info@silverandblackpride.com> at Silver And Black Pride: Front Page Posts
With ESPN's announcement, that a deal is in place (A Contract Extension is Holding It Up) between the Raiders and Falcons that would send the #34 overall pick (Early Doucett, Devin Thomas, Trevor Laws, Jamaal Charles) to Atlanta for DeAngelo Hall, It seems to me that either Stanford Routt or Fabian Washington will be shipped off for a pick. ...

D-Hall To Raiders, Making Them Less Functional Than Before

The silly, speculative offseason and how it relates to the Cowboys
Published 3/16/2008 by Tuna Helper <info@bloggingtheboys.com> at Blogging The Boys: Front Page Posts
... The rating on the Speculation-O-Meter? Very low. Hall is looking for an Asante Samuel-like contract and the Raiders are just dumb enough to give it to him. He’s a great player and all that. He’d arguably be the best cornerback on our team if we got him, although I’d take T-Newman in a heartbeat over Hall. T-New is smaller but faster, tougher and has a cooler head. He’d be a great addition but the money just isn’t there. ...
DeAngelo Hall Set to Join Oakland Raiders
Published 3/17/2008 by David Kindervater at EMQB - NFL Blogcast
... As expected (maybe even sooner), the Oakland Raiders are ready to acquire defensive back DeAngelo Hall from the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for the Raiders’ second round pick in the upcoming 2008 NFL Draft. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed yet, but expectations are in the neighborhood of CB Asanti Samuel’s recent six-year, $57 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Raiders are still finalizing the contract, but according to an ESPN.com report, there’s already an agreement in principle. ...
A quick update….
Published 3/17/2008 by Chris Kolb at KC Chiefs Fanatic
... In case you missed it, the Raiders have agreed in principle with the Falcons on a deal that will send the extremely talented, and somewhat discontented CB DeAngelo Hall to Oakland in exchange for the Raiders 2nd round pick as well as another late round pick. The only catch is that the Raiders have to work out a new deal with Hall, but with the way Crazy Al has been tossing around cash this off-season, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the deal get done soon. ...

WR Smith Talks Smack About Departing DeAngelo
Published 3/17/2008 by jason at SPORTSbyBROOKS
Just because DeAngelo Hall may soon be off to Oakland , it doesn’t mean the former Falcon’s heated rivalry with Steve Smith will be cooling off. ESPN’s HASHMARKS hears a quick quip tossed out by the Panthers receiver on the Raiders-bound DB. Smith was on Sirius NFL Radio on Monday, when he was asked if he would miss the departing DeAngelo: Smith was asked if he was sad to see Hall leave the NFC South. He quickly pointed out the Panthers and Raiders are scheduled to play this year. Then, Smith said he plans to have his children at that game.“Poppa don’t lose no ...
