It's Just So Gnarly Dude News

Oh Nelly, what an ass kicking Gamba laid on the Dynamo in the Pan Pacific Championship final!! Have you ever seen a Dominic Kinnear team get beat like that ??? (see MLS Preseason Section below) ~and~ Could things be any worse for Americans playing in England's top division right now? Not much. Of the twelve 9 are currently sitting in the relegation zone, 1 is having a great year, 1 is having a year we have come to expect, and the other 10 are not impressing anyone. There are no real signs that Derby, Fulham or Reading are going to turn it around either. I find it a little embarrassing as a fan, trying to defend our ...

My take on MLS expansion in Philadelphia
Published 2/26/2008 by Ives Galarcep at Soccer By Ives
... Here is my story on Philadelphia expansion for ESPN.com. I found it very interesting that there are so many long-time MLS fans in the city, fans who rooted for either D.C. Add that to the instant rivalries created by D.C. and New York and these are elements that will help a Philly team be a success right away. ...

Bryan’s an old buddy of mine, but his defection from the SEs leads me to wonder whether “Ben” refers to one of America’s greatest patriots or most notorious traitors.
Expansion News: Philadelphia the perfect location for budding rivalries
Published 2/26/2008 by Mr. Adventure at MLS Expansion And Development
by Ives Galarcep / ESPN.com: Nestled an equal distance from Washington and New York, Philadelphia has always had sports fans who took pride in its city's teams and in hating teams from D.C. and N.Y.
That hasn't really applied to soccer fans. With no pro team to cheer for in the first dozen years of Major League Soccer's existence, fans from ...
Philly Welcomes MLS Team, New Rivalries?
Published 2/27/2008 by FreeseDogg at Poor Sports: Bitter Philly Sports Fans Sound Off
It's not official, but it's expected that the MLS will award Philadelphia a franchise, bringing the league total to 16 teams. I want to first to congratulate the Sons of Ben, a group of dedicated fans who worked unbelievably hard to bring a team to Philly for over a year. So add this to your list of retorts the next time someone tries to rag on Philly fans: We're so dedicated that we'll lobby and win a sports team in a league that most people in the country couldn't even give a damn about. So THERE! Soccer? I dunno. My dad told me never hit a girl. This is great news for me. I love soccer (I won't call it "football" ...
