The Swiss come into Euro 2008 by qualifying automatically due to co-hosting the event. Switzerland will look to improve upon its second round World Cup showing where they lost against Ukraine in Penalty Kicks. If it wasn’t for Penalty kicks that game could still of been going. Not a prime example if you wish to prove that football is indeed the beautiful game. [link]

Traditionally, you have to think Switzerland has a good shot of success in EURO 2008. Playing in front of their home crowd will provide great motivation. In the past four or five European Championships, only co-host Belgium in 2000 has failed to get out of the group stage. Of the two co-hosts, Switzerland has the better squad and in my opinion, will find a way to survive a difficult group.
