The two biggest accomplishments with this signing is the Cubs saved their prospect packages for upgrades elsewhere on the field and we here at TCR have four years of endless f*** jokes. ... Last night was another close game which almost went into extras. Thanks to Kosuke Kukudome's clutch RBI single in the 9th the Cubs scaved by the Dodgers 5-4. Fukudome also capped off the scoring with a solo homerun in the 2nd inning. A 4-run lead diminished in the 5th as Ryan Dempster gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. Jeff Kent homered to twice, later tying the game. Bob Howry came on in relief in the 6th and went on to record the win. Fortunate enough the Cubs had a little extra offense from Mark DeRosa who slugged a solo homer and a RBI single by Ryan Theriot (3-for-5). ...
