The Mets Police — ... was down like 17 percent, with 200,000 households watching.  The Yankees on YES had 346,000 watching...and 210,000 watching the thrice division champion Phillies. One thing to always remember is that "The Mets" are TV programming.   So when you look at bringing in a free agent, and you own the network, you need to look at the total picture.  A-Rod may be annoying. but A-TV is a product.
