The Celtics came out of the half up 58-43. After close to 2 minutes of scoreless ball Paul Pierce put the C’s up 17 with a driving lay up. Marvin Williams responded with a jumper. That was followed by a steal and a Mike Bibby 3-pointer that ...Reactions to a Hawks Fan’s View of Round 1

Our good friend, Shotgun, over at the Blue Workhorse Blog recently put up an article where he addressed 33 points about the Hawks and Celtics round one playoff match up . There were several of these points that I agree with and I think most others who watched the series would also agree with. However, there are a few other points I would look in the opposite direction that Shotgun has. 1. ...Hawks/Celtics game 7 was comparable to a bar fight

So the Hawks and Celtics round 1 matchup was a hard fought one. The Hawks said die even when they were down 0-2. Despite their best efforts they couldn’t take one game in Boston and the Celtics ended the series convincingly yesterday . Tensioned boiled over as the Hawks were getting their asses handed to them and Marvin Williams took it out on Rajon Rondo in a big way. ...Sigh…Game 7: The Atlanta Hawks Get Blasted By the Boston Celtics

The Hawks scored the first basket of the game, but it seemed like that would just about be the only time they lead the entire way. The Celtics dominated the Hawks today by winning 99-65, giving them the series win and the chance to play Lebron James and the Cavs in round two. The Hawks seemed flustered and nervous the entire time they were on the court. Boston took advantage of this hesitancy ...Marvin Williams hardcore clotheslines Rajon Rondo

The Hawks starters are introduced, and Marvin Williams' name is called. He has a brace on his knee, but for now at least he is going to make a go of it. The key to today, as it's been all series, is to get out and go. The Celtics are old, the Hawks are young. We have seen Boston wear down in the fourth quarter in each of the last two games in Atlanta, but we haven't seen it here because they ...Stat Of The Day

12:00 - The crowd is here, that's for sure. Marvin Williams sticks a jumper from JJ, a great start. 2-0. 10:39 - Celtics take the lead on a Kendrick Perkins FG, 4-2, but Al Horford responds with a jumper to make it 4-4. The crowd is roaring with each basket. 9:26 - Josh Smith gets called for a charge, and though I disagree with the call, Smoove was a bit out of control. The Celtics came back to Boston and did exactly what they needed to do while they were at home: get a win. After the two losses in Atlanta, the Celtics desperately needed to come back home and get back on track. They did just that by controlling the Hawks and beating them 110-85.
