One British driver had a trouble-free Bahrain Grand Prix in which he got the most from his car, gained places from his grid position, and beat his team-mate. Ferrari made it look easy in the Bahrain Grand Prix as Lewis Hamilton’s bid for victory self-destructed once again and the speed of the BMWs in qualifying was not matched by their race pace. Today’s Bahrain Grand Prix saw the latest development in the Lewis Hamilton-Fernando Alonso rivalry. Hamilton hit the back of Alonso’s Renault causing the McLaren driver to lose his front wing. Robert Kubica took his and BMW’s first pole position in a surprisingly close qualifying session at Bahrain. The Ferraris had looked imperious in practice but Kubica’s BMW - possible thanks to a low fuel load - nicked pole position in the dying minutes of the qualifying session. As a few people have mentioned in the comments the Crown Prince of Bahrain has told Max Mosley not to attend this weekend’s Grand Prix following his refusal to step down over the sex scandal.
