Everton, however, only need a last day draw or Aston Villa not winning to get it’s own UEFA Cup spot, meaning Fulham has the ...

... The entire table can be seen here but it's not the soap opera that is Man City that's of interest here, or of interest to us—frankly we can't collectively bring ourselves to care much about Citeh around these parts save maybe for their sweeping of United—its the MLS East club sitting in seventh. ...

The weird world of UEFA’s Fair Play League
Published 5/12/2008 by Martyn Herman at Reuters Soccer Blog
... City are a less than angelic fifth in the Premier League’s Fair Play stats but the teams above them will all be in Europe anyway. To make matters worse, the system is not even as simple as red and yellow cards or fouls committed. At least that criteria would be black and white. ...

Not to beat Eight Belles with this, but, yes, it is another Fulham-UEFA Cup post (to go with this and this). Of interest is the new Fair Play table. It has been updated, but only to go back in time. Where it used to say "Matches up to and including 5th May 2008," it now reads "Matches up to and including 28th April 2008" (of course even that depends on when you, the reader, click on the link). Not that you wouldn't believe us, but after the jump is a screenshot of the cached page. Anyway you can see the old ...

... And yes, this simple yellow card has come back to haunt our brave American heroes at Fulham, for the final Fair Play standings were just released. It turns out the relegation-escaping marauders at the Cottage missed out on that unlikely UEFA Cup spot by 0.02 points, or, to put it more bluntly, 4 yellow cards. ...
