Another Cubs Blog — ... why it happens.” This is exactly why I don’t particularly care for the Doug Glanville/Ryne Sandberg type of former player who now finds it convenient to speak out against steroids.  They both know they probably cheated and were surrounded by cheaters at the time.  Have either of them ever admitted as much?  No.  When asked if these guys should get into the Hall of Fame Gibson said, “Oh yeah, I think so.” H/T to BTF

THE BOOK--Playing The Percentages In Baseball — ... done. It’s very difficult to go out and perform when you know the guy next to you is taking steroids or some kind of drug to make you perform better and not do it yourself, to let this guy get an edge on you. As I keep saying, this is not a right/wrong issue.  It’s a workplace issue, one to be decided by the players with balls enough to make a decision, or cowardly enough to let the others make the decision for them.
