"The Braves should utilize Smoltz however Smoltz feels that he can help the team. He s a veteran and probably a Hall of Fame pitcher who is as much a gamer as anyone who takes the field." ... then go back to the rotation for the stretch run. It also allows Rafael Soriano to get more comfortable with less pressure coming back from an injury and gives the Braves time to shop for a closer. I still think Smoltz can be a top-notch starter. That's not the argument.
