BREAKING NEWS: Brett Favre Retires
Published 3/4/2008 by Jimmy <info@musiccitymiracles.com> at Music City Miracles: Front Page Posts
I must say that I am shocked by this news. Chris Mortensen is reporting that Brett Favre has decided to retire after 17 NFL seasons. The Green Bay Packers seem to be on the upswing. He came back to some teams, including last year's team, that didn't seem to be nearly as good as what the Packers will be putting on the field in 2008.

... (even though none of you believed it -- and neither did we, really). Although, you'll get no credit because Chris Mortenson will take the glory from this battle field! No one breaks stories like Mort, even though his career scoop accuracy percentage (a totally official fantasy journalism statistic) is hovering around the Mendoza Line. And yeah, I totally got ahead of myself here. In case you didn't know, Favre is officially dunzo. We should all thank Mr. Favre for making the decision nice and early this year. And on the serious tip, we should also be thankful for having ...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3276034 Favre these past few years has been more than a little hard to take. All of the "I might retire. Look out. I might retire" crap got old 5 years ago. But let me add this. For a 5 year stretch of 1994 through 1998 Brett Favre was the best quarterback that I ever saw play. You couldn't contain him. You couldn't sack him. He threw touchdown passes any time he wanted to guys who were barely able to get open by a yard or two. For that stretch, Favre was the Michael Jordan of football. Favre's weakness as ...

That was easy. (What, you thought I was going to talk with respect and admiration about a person I have no respect or admiration for? Not a chance.) My first thought when I heard about Favre’s retirement was, “Good riddance!” Though I have to admit mean “Good Riddance” to be taken as a huge compliment. I’m glad to see him go, as I’m sick and tired watching Favre beat the Lions like a toy drum. Especially at Lambeau Field, where the Lions NEVER beat him. Never! There’s 3 constants in life.
